What does AFS mean to you?

Luan Amaral (Goiânia AFS Chapter volunteer): In one word, AFS means Family. Thinking about the attitudes, the organization means helping people without worrying about earnings or time and trying the best I can so we can recognize ourselves as a family.

Luan Amaral (voluntário do AFS Comitê Goiânia): Em uma palavra, o AFS significa família. Considerando as atitudes, a organização significa ajudar as pessoas sem me preocupar com ganhos ou tempo e procurar fazer o melhor para que possamos nos reconhecer como uma família.

Leandro Borges (head of Palmas AFS Chapter): AFS means the opportunity to know other cultures, with respect and tolerance towards each one of them. Working for the organization improved my capacity of team working and the ability to express my ideas. It’s also the chance of meeting new people. Voluntary work is responsible for a lot of good things in me, including my personal growth.

Leandro Borges (presidente do AFS Comitê Palmas): O AFS significa a oportunidade de conhecimento de outras culturas, com respeito e tolerância a cada uma delas. Trabalhar na organização desenvolveu melhorias na minha capacidade de trabalho em grupo, e melhorias também na expressão das minhas ideias e no aumento da minha rede de relacionamentos. O trabalho voluntário em si desperta muitas coisas boas em mim, inclusive o meu crescimento pessoal.
